A valley oak (Quercus lobata) in the hills east of Oakland. These are magnificent trees.
Eriogonum fasciculatum (California Buckwheat), seen at the Ruth Bancroft Garden just outside of San Francisco. Frost hardy to 15F. My garden doesn’t have good enough drainage anywhere for this plant, but I’ll happily plant it in yours!
This ceanothus hedge is gorgeous! I’m including a before picture too- this hedge had a lot of dead inner branches and was looking a bit frumpy. Limbing it up and removing the dead branches adds so much to this client’s garden. The dark
